At KNOWRON, we believe that field service, maintenance and asset management should be simple, focused and built around you, the user who’s deep in the details. The KNOWRON App 2.0 is a major redesign of our mobile assistant experience, tailored to present your machines, knowledge and support in one streamlined flow.

Why we built it

Every time we’ve visited a customer site, talked to a field technician, or reviewed customer feedback, one thing was clear: time is of the essence, and context is king. You shouldn’t have to dig through menus, figure out which document applies, or wonder whether that guideline really matches your machine-version. You should open your phone, select your asset, and get what you need; fast, accurate, and built around that machine.

So App 2.0 is all about asset-centricity: one tap to your machine, one tap to its history, one tap to the right knowledge. Our goal it to give you a navigation designed so you never lose time.

What's new in App 2.0

Better navigation, less friction

We’ve re-worked the tab bar to reflect real workflows. Now you’ll find four clear tabs:

  • Home, your starting point;
  • Assistant, ask questions, get answers;
  • Assets, the inventory of machines you care about;
  • More, all the remaining knowledge, manuals, support.

With the navigation bar, you always know where you are and you are only a single tap away from the information you need the most.

Home

Open the app and you land here. It’s designed to let you choose your asset, pull up relevant documents, jump into the knowledge-base and, when needed, ask for help.  No fluff. No extra taps.

With a machine or asset selected, every other shortcut in the home screen takes this into account. That means that tapping on the knowledge base or the assistant will take you there, with the context of the asset already preselected. You can change the context at any time, of course.

Assistant

The assistant screen takes you to the mobile version of the Assistant feature, which we recently released on the Control Suite. You can read more all the details about this feature here.

Importantly, this is the first time that we allow you to ask questions without first selecting the context of an asset. This means that you can query your entire knowledge base and only later narrow down results if you feel like it's necessary.

The assistant in the Control Suite and on the App are one and the same. Any updates and improvements available in one will immediately be accessible on the other.

Remember, you can always use the voice input function to ask your questions more easily!

Assets

Scan or search a serial number and you’ll land on a detailed page for that machine. Browse your products, view the inventory of machines you have previously scanned, and get to the machine information you need, fast.

Once you've selected an asset, the navigation bar will show the icon of the asset so it's always clear what you're asking about. Tapping on the icon will return you to the page of the asset.

Similarly to the Assistant, this is the first time that you can browse all documents without previously selecting an asset as context on the App. You can always decide to narrow your focus later on.

  • Less hassle, more focus: Jump straight to the machine you’re working on and get relevant info in seconds.
  • Smarter answers: The assistant adapts to your asset-context, no more general responses that don’t match your machine.
  • Everything in one place: Inventory, history, manuals, support — all organized so that you spend less time navigating and more time working.
  • Empowered teams: With faster access to knowledge and better structure, both field techs and office teams can collaborate with less friction.

How to get started

Simply download the app over on the App Store or Play Store and give it a try! The new version is available for all clients. You won't have to log in again.
